Book Launch: Where-it-Ends available now

Apologies for photo.
Took it Amazon!
This has been a long time coming. I decided a year ago to put a foot in the door of self-publishing. I learned what I could, but seriously, it's like having a baby, you don't really know what you are letting yourself in for until labour begins!

It really has been a long labour, and a traumatic one beginning in October. I had to take each step slowly due to my stress levels, stepping back for a few days at a time. I had decided to publish a set of linked flash stories, a Novella-in-flash, but soon came across the difficulties of actually doing this. The re-formatting in Word ready for KDP was, in the end, not the worst part. I got stuck on every step until my head felt like it would burst.

Not that I want to put people off. I'm just not technically minded, and I am a complete novice. I considered a cover designer, but for a book as small as mine the cost was just not viable. Pre-made designs didn't suit either. So, against all advice, I have designed my own cover, asking my son for advice using the software. Tears? Yes, there were some. The problems came two weeks later when I re-edited my book cover. All fine with the eBook. but the paperback version would not load and came back with error messages, including about my manuscript. The latter confused me as I had sent for a proof copy, and had no problems with uploads. It turned out that the problem was the number of pages - they have to be even. Once fixed, the files uploaded. Hey ho! This was certainly a learning curve. Would I do it again? That reminds me of a question I asked myself after having my first baby. At the time I said no, but then I changed my mind!

So, today my eBook Where it Ends has gone live at Amazon at the princely sum of 99p. The paperback version is still being processed and I will keep you posted on that.

I'd like to thank my followers who have been through my highs and lows of publication over many years. Your encouragement has kept me going.

Please do go and check out my eBook.

Have a lovely weekend.
