Found Poetry

For the climate crises poetry course I'm taking we've been looking at found and cut-up poetry. I do enjoy this form of poetry, though I don 't feel I'm particularly good at it. I once submitted a piece to a competition and they said it was too clever! What the hell did that mean? Maybe it's because I want my pieces to be logical.

Anyway I'm having another go and found part of an article that was supplied this week and began working on it, I got out the scissors and the BluTack, but first tried to decide the words I would use and typed them as a reference point. I don't know if this is how others work but I couldn't get my head round it otherwise.

This morning I've been BluTacking the words into place, though I did make some adjustments and found better words. I may yet change it again! I also introduced an additional word
because I only had one 'normal' to use and I wanted three! So I wrote these onto small pieces of paper and added them to the poem (they all come in the same stanza).

The thing is with found poetry, or cut-up or blacked out you have to think about it beforehand otherwise once you start blacking out or cutting up its' too late to change it. I ran the article off on my printer first and then began finding words and typing them out. I'd love to know what techniques other use. Do comment.
