Tectonic
The
earth breathes,
long
intakes, shuddering through the cracks,
spinning
plates in grind and bump,
aligning,
separating in mini quakes,
ignoring
the nature of man to tame –
he
cannot.
The inner
core seethes in deep waters,
oceans
wash through as it breaks,
steaming,
spitting, tumbling in hissy fits,
and
the earth goes on its business, shifting,
settling,
setting continents adrift
and others
to collide.
The
planet trembles,
uneasy,
the mantle is rocking against shell,
the
thin crust stretches, fractures,
ripping earth apart, forcing it upwards,
always
moving, pushing on relentlessly,
unable
to stop.
